NURSERY (click here for Nursery Volunteers Schedule)

Rest assured.  First E Free has what you need!  Nursing moms are invited to enjoy a room designed just for you.  A closed circuit TV broadcasts the worship service into a comfortable room for you so that you will be able to participate in the service at the same time as seeing to the needs of your child. This room is located upstairs at the south end of the balcony in Room 310.  Signs are posted to direct you.

For infants up to two-year-olds, we offer a nursery that is well staffed by loving volunteers to watch over your child.  We have a large room that has many fun toys and books for your child.  A smaller room is also available for the infants and non-walkers.  Children are cared for at all times by volunteers to ensure the safety of your child.  For added security, we have a sign-in, numbering and paging system, so if your child needs you we will be able to page you.

Please feel free to visit our nursery and rest assured that your child will be well cared for while you participate in the worship service.  If you have any questions regarding the care of your child, please call Suzie at 721-1391.

SUNDAY SCHOOL (click here for classes and teachers)

We are pleased to launch a curriculum new to First E Free called Children Desiring God. This  God-centered curriculum is designed to saturate our children with the Word of God so that they will "treasure Jesus alone who saves and satisfies the heart."

The Fall Adult Sunday School series is studying the topic of Christ's deity using  the book, "Putting Jesus in His Place."  All adults meet together in the sanctuary at 9:00 am for the lecture, then they break off into small groups for discussion, fellowship and prayer.

AWANA

The Awana Commander at First E Free is Shaun Nielsen.  Awana is a nondenominational ministry that assists churches in reaching children and teenagers with the gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to serve Him.  Awana Clubs International supplies programs, materials and training for more than 12, 000 churches in over 110 countries.  Their message to churches is simple:  We're here to serve you with a ministry that is all about fun with a purpose--to win and grow kids for Christ!

Reaching our young people is very important.  Did you know that 85% of all people who do not accept Jesus Christ by age 18 never will?  That's why Awana offers a series of clubs and programs geared to the needs of a particular age or grade.  As a vital part of our local church ministry, Awana clubs and programs effectively reach young people with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Here are First E. Free Church, our Awana ministry works with other ministries to give our children and youth a well-balanced emphasis on knowing Jesus and how we can live for Him and serve Him.

Each Awana ministry (Cubbies, Sparks, and Truth & Training) is divided into three general areas: Game Time, Handbook Time, and Lesson Time.  Children are encouraged to memorize scripture and are taught about Jesus and how to live a Christian life.

Awana Ministries:

  • Cubbies - This is a preschool ministry for 3 & 4 year olds.  A child must be 3 years old prior to September 1st.  The Team Leader for Cubbies is Kathy Amerson.
  • Sparks - This is the early elementary ministry for children in kindergarten through 2nd grade.  The Team Leader for Sparks is Carrie Nielsen.
  • T & T - This is a ministry for 3rd through 5th grade students.  Ronna Poole is the Team Leader for T & T.

AWANA ACTIVITIES:

  • Game Time - All Awana ministries have a time of activity each week.  Sparks and Truth & Training have the opportunity to compete against other Awana clubs in the annual Awana Games.  Time is spent preparing for this competition.
  • Awana Bible Quizzing - A regional event for Awana where children in 3rd grade and up from various Awana clubs meet to see how well they have learned their verses and Awana material.
  • Missions - Adopt-a-Club is just one way that Awana participates in missions activities.  Adopt-a-Club allows our children to help children in another country attend Awana.

MUSIC & WORSHIP

Our Philosophy of Worship
The Lord Jesus stated that authentic worshippers "will worship the Father in spirit and truth."  At First Free, we believe worship is meant to be our loving response to God as we grasp His greatness revealed within the pages of the Bible.  Our commitment to Biblical instruction nourishes and defines our worship of God.

The impact of a worship format that is God-oriented enables us to gain His eternal perspective on our daily lives as we live for Him.  The specific style or expression of our worship is "blended," a mix of up-to-date expressions of praise and the rich tradition of hymnology!
